Emma's Work Experience

Hi my name is Emma and I am doing work experience for a week with Alison. I have learnt a lot of new skills which you can do in art and have also been given good advice for when I do my GCSE project next year.

At the start of the week, we had two small rocking chairs. I sanded down one of the chairs and then painted over it in a baby pink, while Alison painted over the other one in baby blue.

And this is the                                         end result >>

Through this week of work experience I went out and visited places, which Alison goes to:

On Tuesday we went to a gallery in Northwich, where we sat down and I learnt some drawing skills, which I got from a book called 'drawing on the right side of the brain'.

On Wednesday we went to Macclesfield, where we looked around a silk gallery and a place where Alison might volunteer and do a workshop.

On Thursday we went to a workshop in Crewe called "Spilling the Beans" that Alison runs and that is where I learnt how to felt make, and by the end of the day I had made a bowl out of felt.

These are some pictures  that we took of when we were in Crewe at 'Spilling  the Beans':

                                      that a member did,
made out of felt, which they
                                  were very proud of>>
