Chair almost finished!

Hi everyone,

Sorry it's been so long since my last blog. I have had a busy month!

It was my birthday in April and my daughter Ruth had booked us both on a print making course for my present. The course was at Macclesfield college and ran five weeks on a Monday evening from 7 til 9.

These prints are from an image I created of Ivy using the Intaglio technique. The image on the left I used a lot more ink so that I have night and day prints.

The following images of "fairly" abstract birds was created using lino printing.

        This little birdy is my
                 favourite!

<= This one is my son's favourite!

And this poor guy is no one's favourite! =>

I have also been to a Mandala workshop at Art Up Close. Although the class was very interesting and good fun I do find this style very difficult as mathematical precision has never been my strong point! I'm free flowing darling! Having said that

I really like the centre of this. But from the pink circle and out I am not happy with this work. Glad I did it though it was a great exercise in exactitude.....ish!

The Chair!

Ok I got a little side tracked, back to the chair!

Last post showed the original chair and after I had stripped it. I have been working a lot on this and it is nearly finished. I just need to make some double piping to cover the edges and also to cover the seat cushion, however it might be a be a couple of weeks before I receive my custom seat cusion from J A Milton.

When I have finished this chair will  be for sale at the potters barn for £500. It's changed from the original just a little don't you think?

Looking Forward

I've got a busy month of teaching lined up for June which I'm really excited about. Not only do I have loads of felting classes to keep me occupied; I'm preparing and completing, weather permitting (come on britain,  bring us summer!) an art project with year 1 and 2 at Brixton Primary School in Knutsford!

Hope you enjoyed my blog and my pictures. Please don't be afraid to comment.

Bye for now

Ali
