Willow Weaving At Jo's
I had a really fun, impromptu day at Jo's Willow Weaving
as she had got it all ready for a workshop she was going to
teach only to find it was the wrong day! Happy accident for
us as Lyndsey, Andrea, Jo and I had a good laugh and a
creative day thrown in! I started my willow creation too big
and ran out of willow so didn't get it finished - a project for another day.

           Batik With Jo And Lyndsey

Week 3 of Batik taught by the lovely Lyndsey Piper from Art Up Close.

I am really enjoying this - Textiles are clearly one of my main mediums.

However, in my enthusiasm to get the first piece finished I got my hands covered in black dye (I couldn't be bothered to find gloves) it took several soakings in bleach and a week later, my fingers are still black round the edges, I wont make that mistake again!

< These are my first two pieces.

<This is an abstract forest, I think that it needs a flash of colour somewhere?!

You may remember these from my prints?>

Finished pieces

So the my coffee mornings with the ladies at Spilling the Beans is over for the time being. But there work will be in a travelling exhibition in the Crewe area.

The final articles which will be suspended on poles as wall hangings.

They are about 200cm x 50cm and took me longer to put together than I had anticipated.

Happy Holidays to everyone, no more teaching for me till September so I can work on a few of my own projects.

Bye for now

Ali
